Samsung SDS participates in a bid for the COVID-19 vaccine distribution business. In August of last year, a small and medium-sized pharmaceutical company, a Korean vaccine, distributed flu vaccine exposed to room temperature, and a large company started to distribute the flu vaccine.

Samsung SDS announced on the 6th that it conducted a simulation test for vaccine distribution last week with Yongma Logis, a subsidiary specialized in pharmaceutical logistics of Dong-A Pharmaceutical Group, and Korea Cryogenics equipped with cryogenic logistics center technology.

The work of transferring the Corona 19 vaccine from overseas to the distribution center by special vehicle and then to the national vaccination center was checked. They plan to conduct additional shipping tests for overseas vaccine shipments with Korean Air next week.

However, it is not known whether Samsung SDS, Korean Air, Yongma Logis, and Korea Cryogenics will form separate consortiums. It can vary depending on the government’s bidding method, leaving many possibilities open.

Samsung SDS plans to manage location and temperature throughout the vaccine distribution process based on its IT capabilities such as Internet of Things (IoT). Their IT capabilities have already been proven in many fields, and expectations are gathering that they can increase the safety of vaccine distribution.
