“Samsung Man Power?”… Suwon surpasses men in their 40s and Gangnam to be the number one stock investor in the country

Where are the most stock investors in the country? A man in his 40s living in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, surpassed Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and stockholders were concentrated.

According to the Korea Securities Depository on the 18th, among individual investors as of the end of last year, the number of male investors in their 40s residing in Suwon was 34,463, the largest number of investors by ward, city, county, gender and age group nationwide. Gangnam-gu was followed by men in their 40s (34,187 people). This is the first time that a male in his 40s in Suwon has been ranked first in this category since the relevant statistics have been calculated since 2016. It seems to be the result of active participation in the stock market by office workers attending Samsung Group affiliates such as Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung SDI. In fact, the number of male investors in their 40s in Suwon was only 24,790 in 2018, but it has increased by nearly 40% in two years. During the same period, the number of men in their 40s in Gangnam increased by 13.34%, a difference of more than three times. In addition, men in their 30s (38,91) and men in their 50s (29,098) residing in Suwon City also proved’Samsung Man Power’ by raising their names in the national rankings.

In terms of the number of shares held, it was counted that men in their 50s living in Gangnam-gu, Seoul owned the most at 1.14 billion shares. Then, a man in his 40s held 830 million shares, showing the potential of investment in Gangnam. In fact, as of the end of last year, 75% of men in their 40s (46,145 people) in Gangnam had invested in stocks.

Meanwhile, the number of individual investors last year was 9.19 million, an increase of 48.5% (3 million) from the previous year, the highest increase in history. Among them, Samsung Electronics’ owners were 2,95,8682, revealing the status of’Kookmin Electronics’.
