According to an official from the multiple parts industry on the 25th, it was found that Samsung Electronics is holding an estimate of 26 million units for the Galaxy S21 series shipments. Last year, when sales were extremely sluggish, the Galaxy S20 series shipments were only 26 million units, which is a conservative figure for the Galaxy S21 26 million units. Samsung Electronics is reported to have contracted due to a decrease in its position in the premium product market and a decrease in the chances of consumers visiting offline stores due to the continued Corona 19.
Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series model shipments are estimated at 10 million units (40%) for 6.2-inch general models, 8 million units (30%) for 6.7-inch Plus models, and 8 million units (30%) for 6.8-inch ultra models. Compared to last year, the proportion of the top model Galaxy S21 Ultra increased. Last year, Samsung Electronics predicted that shipments of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, the top model in the Galaxy S20 series, will be the lowest, but the forecast was wrong. In the parts industry, shipments of the Galaxy S21 this year will exceed those of the previous Galaxy S20, but it will be difficult to recover from the previous year’s level, which had sold to the mid-30 million units. Even considering Samsung Electronics’ prudent move to reduce parts inventory, looking at the recent orders for additional parts after the initial volume, it is predicted that Galaxy S21 shipments may slightly exceed 30 million units or less than 30 million units.
Since smartphone sales are concentrated in three months after launch, and the box office is decided in the first month, the prospect of the industry is likely to become a reality if the sales volume of the Galaxy S21 does not increase significantly over the next month. The production capacity of Samsung Foundry, which produces Exynos, the AP of the Galaxy S21, is also a variable.
