Samsung Fire & Marine announced on the 3rd that it is expanding digital services through direct channels to increase customer convenience.

Currently, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Direct is providing a variety of personal authentication methods such as joint authentication (formerly accredited certificate), mobile phone authentication, Kakao authentication, toss authentication, as well as biometric authentication and 6-digit PIN authentication.

Previously, joint authentication and personal authentication methods using mobile phones were mainly used, but the company added Kakao and Toss authentication in January last year and biometric and PIN authentication methods in November to increase customer convenience.

In particular, customer reaction to biometric authentication is hot. In two months of introduction, the cumulative usage amount exceeds 300,000. The biometric authentication available in Samsung Fire & Marine Direct is fingerprint and face identification.

Samsung Fire & Marine Direct’s biometric authentication service is characterized by providing its own authentication service within its own app without the need to additionally install other biometric authentication apps. Typically, biometric authentication of insurance company apps uses a method of installing and using a separate biometric authentication app.

A chat counseling service has also been added to the direct app. Previously, only chatbot counseling was operated, which handled simple inquiries and tasks. Consultation can be conducted after identification, and business processing such as contract change as well as subscription consultation is possible.

In February, it is planning to introduce Naver Pay. Through this, all three financial platforms Naver, Kakao, and Toss will provide alliance services to increase customer convenience.
