Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Samsung Card, and Samsung Securities announced on the 22nd that they will hold the ‘2nd Samsung Finance Open Collaboration’ jointly with Samsung Venture Investment.
Held under the slogan “Opening the future of finance that grows together,” 237 startups supported this competition in the first event, supporting healthcare startup’Wehild’ and artificial intelligence (AI) banking solution startup’Agen Global’. Back won the championship.
‘Samsung Financial Open Collaboration’, which recruits participating startups from this day to the 31st of next month, selects companies to enter the finals through screening, and develops solutions and business models through cooperation with Samsung financial companies. The final winner will be determined through a presentation in September this year.
In particular, this competition further strengthened support for startups to perform smoothly. The 13 startups advancing to the finals will receive 30 million won of support, an increase of 20 million won from the last tournament, and the period of joint project promotion with Samsung Finance has been extended from 3 months to 4 months.
Winning startups that select one team for each financial company will receive an additional prize of 10 million won and an opportunity to invest in equity. In the case of Wehild, the team that won the first tournament, it is promoting the development of customized healthcare services using AI by receiving an equity investment of 1 billion won from Samsung Life.
Domestic startups and SMEs wishing to participate can apply through the official website. The tasks presented by Samsung Finance consist of 17 challenges tailored to the characteristics of each company, two common tasks for synergy among financial companies, and free themes.
