Samsung Electronics Unveils Video Looking Back at ’40 Years of Launching Association’ – Samsung Newsroom Korea

In addition to the’Samsung Electronics Partners Council’ (hereinafter referred to as’Hyupseon’), which marks the 40th anniversary of its inauguration this year, a video of the journey that has led the development of the Korean IT industry and the status of today is presented in the’Samsung Electronics Newsroom (https://youtu. be/rygjKTxe5TA)’.

Under the theme of ’40 Years of Companion to the Best’, the video includes the localization of technology of members of the Hyupsung Society, the world’s number 1 challenge, and the practice of win-win with partners, etc. Introducing the achievements.

The’Cooperative Association’ was established in 1981 by 39 of Samsung Electronics’ primary suppliers to maintain a smooth cooperative relationship between Samsung Electronics and its suppliers, and to develop mutually through information exchange and joint technology development. There are several companies registered as member companies.

The members of the Hyupsung Society are ▲representing partner companies in discussions with Samsung Electronics for win-win activities, solving difficulties ▲ benchmarking and seminars for acquiring new technologies and methods for secondary and tertiary partner companies, etc. Department scholarship programs are being conducted.

Together with Samsung Electronics, the members of the Hyupsung Association also made a quantum and qualitative leap forward, growing as a pillar of the Korean economy.

The total sales of 201 companies of Hyeopseonghoe in 2019 were about 57.9 trillion won, and the total number of employees employed is 283,000. Companies with more than 1 trillion won in sales also reach 9 locations including Dongwoo Finechem, SFA, MCNEX, Partron, and Daedeok Electronics.

When comparing 1991 and 2019 of Hyeopseonghoe member companies, sales increased by more than 25 times and the number of employees employed increased by more than 6 times.

Daedeok Electronics, a PCB (printed circuit board) company, increased 121 times from 8.8 billion won in sales in 1980 to 1.72 trillion won in 2019, and its number of employees increased 12 times from 280 to 3,500.

The members of Hyeopseonghoe succeeded in trying to localize core technologies by continuously striving to strengthen competitiveness with Samsung Electronics, and introduced world-class products.

‘Iotechnics’ succeeded in localizing high-performance laser production equipment last year that depended on imports through joint research and development for 8 years with Samsung Electronics.

The’Laser Annealing’ equipment developed by Iotechnics is a technology that processes the surface by heating and cooling only a part of a wafer with a laser during the DRAM production process. It is the key equipment to solve the problem.

With the expansion of the 3D NAND flash market, Wonik IPS succeeded in localizing CVD equipment and core technologies used to manufacture semiconductor wafers with technical support from Samsung Electronics in 2018.

‘Intops’, a mobile phone exterior injection company, has developed a new material plastic used in products such as’Galaxy A51 5G’ and’Galaxy A21S’ launched this year.

By applying a new method, it can maintain the strength and gloss of tempered glass, and can express various colors, contributing to the launch of various colored smartphones.

Samsung Electronics is providing intensive support in three areas of’finance, technology, and manpower’ to strengthen the competitiveness of suppliers.

In particular, we are operating a win-win fund and water support fund worth 2.2 trillion won to stabilize the management of business partners.

In addition, about 380 billion won was paid as an incentive from 2010 to the present to excellent semiconductor suppliers that achieved the goals of’productivity’ and’safety’.

Since 2015, 27,000 patents have been opened free of charge, and from 2013, the’Win-Win Cooperation Academy’ dedicated to education, recruitment, and consulting of suppliers has been established to provide systematic support.

In order to resolve the difficulties of business partners who are having difficulties in management due to Corona 19 this year, we urgently provided funding and logistics support, and delivered quarantine supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is supporting the construction of smart factories for all small and medium-sized companies that need support regardless of whether or not they do business with Samsung Electronics.

Daedeok Electronics CEO Kim Young-jae, chairman of Hyeop Seong-hoe, said, “Since the beginning of the electronics industry, Samsung Electronics’ executives have emphasized to partner companies to go far together and create a strong electronics industry. Hyupseonghoe will also play its role so that it can be done.”

Kim Hyun-seok, CEO of Samsung Electronics, said, “Partners are Samsung Electronics’ most reliable partners. Thanks to this, Samsung Electronics has grown into a global company, and Korea has become an IT powerhouse,” he said.

Samsung Electronics said,’Go Together To the Future! Under the CSR vision of’Enabling People’, we are engaged in win-win activities and social contribution activities for youth education, such as win-win fund, smart factory, C Lab Outside, and Samsung Future Technology Promotion Project.
