In January this year, domestic private investors invested in Samsung Electronics more than the entire last year. Last year,’Donghak ants’ surged in the booming domestic stock market, and the belief in Samsung Electronics’ profitability and dividend expectations were also large.

Individuals net bought 10,1563 billion won of Samsung Electronics stock until the 29th of this year. This is 556.2 billion won more than last year’s annual net purchase (9,5951 billion won).

In addition, it is 8 times that of last year’s January (1.276 trillion won) and last year’s highest monthly March (49587 billion won).

This net purchase amounted to 42.2% of the 24.35 trillion won net purchases made by individuals in the entire securities market this month.

In January, individuals net bought Samsung Electronics for 16 of the 20 trading days. Among them, they bought more than 10 million shares a day for three trading days. There were only 5 cases like this last year.

In January, individuals bought a total of 11,673 million shares of Samsung Electronics (1.96% of the total number of issued shares) and received both institutional and foreign sales. During the same period, institutions and foreigners net sold 66.4 million shares and 53.39 million shares of Samsung Electronics, respectively.

Securities experts believe that Samsung Electronics’ belief in business feasibility, stock profitability, and dividends have boosted individuals’ willingness to buy Samsung Electronics.

Samsung Securities’ Investment Information Team Leader Jeong Myung-ji said, “Some of the individual investors are single-minded minority shareholders. However, the higher the asset price is, the more demand is to buy stocks because of their belief in Samsung Electronics, quarterly dividends, and total dividends. Money can be very conservative in trading.
