
Samsung Electronics announced a $1 million donation plan to the US state of Texas, which suffered damages such as a cut in power supply due to a record cold wave.
According to the Samsung Electronics US Newsroom on the 5th, Samsung Electronics decided to donate $1 million to a community group in north-central Texas. The donation will be used for provision of water and food, home repairs, and public health services to communities affected by cold weather.
North America Samsung Electronics CEO Choi Kyung-sik said, “We will provide prompt support by cooperating with possible partners to the members of the community we work with.”

Samsung Electronics continued to contribute to the local community last year by donating more than 4 million dollars to US non-profit organizations to support the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics’ Austin plant currently has power and water, but cleaning and equipment restarts are delayed.
