Samsung Electronics’ new mini LED TV’Neo QLED’ TV, released on the 3rd, boasted improved picture quality and contrast ratio.
Samsung Electronics held an experience event to introduce new 2021 TV products including Neo QLED at the experience center’Samsung Delight’ in Seoul’s Seocho office building this morning.
At the event, major models ranging from 8K 85-inch, the highest-end Neo QLED model to the smallest 4K 50-inch model, were unveiled for the first time in Korea.
Samsung Electronics also compared and demonstrated the picture quality of Neo QLED new products and other premium products, OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) TV.
In the game video of the famous FPS console game’Call of Duty’, Neo QLED emphasized that the improved contrast ratio and black detail expression clearly express the appearance of allies in the dark, but it appears blurry in other OLED TV products.
In addition, in general news screens and documentary screens, the new Neo QLED product with a’neo quantum processor’ applied is explained that it expresses more vivid colors and details than other OLED TV products.
Samsung Electronics did not reveal the manufacturer of the OLED TV used in the comparison, but explained that it is not an LG Electronics product.
Neo QLED is a mini LED TV that uses’Quantum Mini LED’, which has been reduced to one 40th of its previous size (in terms of height), as a light source.
Unlike conventional LED chips, the mini LED chip is small enough to be difficult to see with the naked eye.
Neo QLED, which controls the brightness of light in 4,96 steps (12 bits) to improve contrast ratio and black detail, and optimizes images of any image quality to 8K and 4K quality respectively through 16 neural networks-based control through deep learning. It is a characteristic of the company, the company explained.
Samsung Electronics introduced that Neo QLED’s fast response speed and the introduction of the Game Bar function have greatly strengthened the game function, and that it can also be used for home training and home cinema.
The price of Neo QLED 8K released on this day is 13.8 million to 19.3 million won for 85 type, 8.89 million to 13.8 million won for 75 type, and 5.89 million won for 65 type.
4K products range from 2.29 million to 9.59 million won.
In this event, 99-inch and 88-inch micro LED TVs were also unveiled for the first time following the 110-inch micro LED TV that was unveiled in December last year.
Micro LED TV is the only self-luminous TV in the industry in which micro LEDs in micrometer (㎛) units emit light and color by themselves, and is a higher model than Neo QLED.
Micro LED TV 99 type will be released in the first half of this year, 88 type will be released within this year, and Samsung Electronics also announced plans to release 76 type.
