Russia and Afghanistan hold peace talks… American envoy attended | Voice of America

The’International Afghan Peace Talks’ in which Russia seeks ways to build peace in Afghanistan will be held today (18th) in Moscow.

The peace talks are held in Doha, Qatar since September last year, in a situation where peace negotiations between the United States, the Afghan government, and the Taliban are struggling.

As most of the Afghan dispute parties gather in one place for the first time this year, it is attracting attention whether a breakthrough in the Afghan crisis can be prepared, according to the AP news agency.

The United States dispatched Afghan Envoy Jalmay Haliljad to the meeting.

In Afghanistan, representatives of the government and political parties are present, and the Taliban also said it would send a 10-member delegation. Pakistan, Iran, India and China also sent delegations.

From the first week of April after the Moscow peace talks, high-level talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban will be held in Turkey.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln suggested that the Afghan government and the Taliban hold high-level talks in Turkey to discuss ways to reduce physical conflict over the next 90 days.

In the midst of this, today in the Afghan capital of Kabul, a bus carrying government officials was bombed along the road, killing 4 people and injuring 9 people.

The Afghan government accused the Taliban of attacking government officials, civil society personnel, and journalists as the Taliban’s actions, which the Taliban denied.

The Afghan Ministry of Defense said that the evening before, nine people, including military personnel, were hit by a rocket attack during takeoff in the central Afghan state of Bardakh.
