The BBC reported on the 14th (local time) that Republican lawmakers, who voted in favor of the US House of Representatives’ resolution to impeach President Donald Trump, feel threatened and are buying body armor.

Ten Republicans voted in favor of the resolution to impeach the House of Representatives, which was resolved on the 13th.

Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyoming), third in the Republican House of Representatives, faced a demand from party members to resign from the party leadership after passing the impeachment bill.

“I voted on conscience and I’m not going anywhere,” he said at a press conference, with former vice president Dick Cheney as his father. “The US constitutional crisis is unprecedented after the Civil War.”

Other lawmakers face threats of violence, and some are strengthening their defenses, such as buying body armor.

Republican Congressman Peter Meyer (Michigan) told MSNBC, “It’s full of unprecedented levels of fear, division and hatred, so you don’t know what’s going to happen next.”
