On the 26th, the Financial Services Commission released the result of refunding fees for new franchisees in the second half of 2020.
Reimbursement targets are about 190,000 selected as small and medium-sized franchisees among businesses that became new credit card franchisees from July 1 to December 31 of last year.
The total amount of refund is about 49.9 billion won (38 billion won for credit cards and 11.8 billion won for check cards), and about 70% of the total amount goes to small affiliates. The average refund amount of a member store eligible for refund is about 260,000 won. However, the actual refund amount may vary depending on the card sales amount of the new credit card member store and the preferential commission rate.
The refund amount can be checked through the’merchant store sales transaction information integrated inquiry system’ operated by the Credit Finance Association,’call center’ or’each credit card company’.
In the second half of last year, the number of credit card merchants with annual sales of less than 3 billion won, subject to preferential fees, totaled 2.786,000, which accounted for 96.1% of the total.
The Loan Finance Association plans to send a notice of applying the preferential commission rate to affiliated stores starting on the 27th. It can also be checked through the association call center or the affiliate store sales transaction information integrated inquiry system.
Although not a credit card franchise, preferential fees are also applied to 1093,000 online businesses that accept credit card payments through an electronic payment agency (PG) or a transportation settlement service provider and 165,000 private taxi businesses.
