Real Meter “59.7% of President Moon’s negative evaluation…the highest since taking office”

The results of a public opinion poll on the 28th came out on the 28th that the negative evaluation of President Moon Jae-in reached the highest level since taking office.

As a result of a survey of 2008 people aged 18 and over nationwide for four days from the 21st to the 24th at the request of the YTN by Real Meter, the approval rate (positive evaluation) of President Moon was 36.7%, down 2.8 percentage points from the previous week.

On the other hand, negative evaluation rose 2.0 percentage points to 59.7%, a record high since its launch.

The gap between positive and negative evaluations is 23.0%, which is outside the range of error (±2.2% points at 95% confidence level).

By region, Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do’s approval ratings fell 12.2 percentage points, making the biggest drop. The approval ratings for Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam also fell 5.1 percentage points.

President Moon’s traditional supporters, the Democratic Party and those in their 40s, fell 4.3 percentage points and 3.3 percentage points, respectively. It rose 2.3 percentage points in the Justice Party support.

During the investigation, President Moon was criticized for procrastinating against the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine. In response, the Blue House refuted, including the disclosure of 13 documents instructed by President Moon to develop vaccines and treatments for Corona 19 and secure supplies from last April.

In addition, Realmeter analyzed that a series of bad news on the passport, such as the assault of a taxi driver, Vice Minister of Justice Yong-gu Yong-gu, the controversy of the past words and actions of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport candidate Byeon Chang-heum, the controversy about the art grant fund of Moon Joon-yong, and the ruling of the first trial of Professor Kyung-Shim Chung.

In terms of party support, the people’s power rose 2.2 percentage points to 33.8% from last week, and the Democratic Party recorded 29.3%, down 1.3 percentage points.
