The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has decided to re-recommend a candidate for the president of LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation). Among the candidates currently pursuing the appointment process, it was determined that none of the candidates had the capacity to deal with the LH situation, which is currently surrounded by speculation suspicions. It is interpreted that the president of SH (Seoul Housing and Urban Corporation) Kim Se-yong, who is known to have been appointed as president of LH, has not crossed the threshold of candidate verification.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 12th that “I will request the LH Corporation Executive Recommendation Committee for re-recommendation of the candidate for the president of LH Corporation who was in the process of nomination.” The reason for the re-recommendation is that among the candidates who applied for the presidential contest held on December 29 last year, it is judged that no eligible candidates have sufficient capacity to respond seriously to the current situation at LH.

Up to now, three people, including SH President Kim Se-yong, both inside and outside LH, have applied for the contest for LH president, and among them, there are observations that the appointment of President Kim is high. However, as the suspicion of LH speculation has grown due to national controversy, there have been many views that it is necessary to be cautious in recommending the president. The National Assembly Committee on Land and Land also showed a negative trend in the appointment of President Kim, such as, by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Byeon Chang-heum, questioning the possibility of the appointment of President Kim. In addition, it is interpreted that SH, too, is not free from allegations of speculation, and President Kim’s controversy over multi-households also influenced the evaluation of insufficient content. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said, “We will push forward the re-recommendation process,” and “We will do our best to expedite the appointment process.”
