Rare blood diseases occur after corona vaccination… 36 cases in the US

After receiving a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccination, reports that a rare blood disease occurred, and the U.S. health authorities launched an investigation.

The New York Times (NYT) introduced cases of thrombocytopenia in which blood did not coagulate normally after receiving the Corona 19 vaccine on the 9th (local time).

Rouge Leegaspi, 72, who lives in New York, was admitted to a hospital for bleeding in his mouth, and Gregory Michael, 56, who lives in Miami Beach, was hospitalized with the same symptoms.

Michael died of a brain hemorrhage two weeks later.

Both of them developed these symptoms 1 to 3 days after vaccinating against the Corona 19 vaccine.

As of the end of January, a total of 36 similar cases were filed in the Vaccine Side Effects Reporting System (VAERS) operated by the US government.

NYT said the symptoms occurred regardless of Pfizer, modder or vaccine.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have also investigated, but have yet to find any evidence that vaccination caused thrombocytopenia.

Of the 31 million Americans vaccinated, 36 of them developed thrombocytopenia, he said.

A health official said, “The reported frequency of thrombocytopenia is not remarkably high at a naturally occurring level,” he said. “Thrombocytopenia may have occurred by chance regardless of the vaccine.”

However, some experts analyzed that the COVID-19 vaccine could have affected the immune system of some patients and destroyed platelets.

Other vaccines, such as the measles vaccine, may also develop thrombocytopenia.

Dr. James Bussell, a hematologist at Weil Cornell University, pointed out that further research is needed, raising the possibility that the vaccine may have triggered thrombocytopenia under certain conditions.

Meanwhile, Pfizer and Moderna each said in a statement that they are looking closely at vaccine safety issues.
