NC Dinos’ 2021 professional baseball opening game was canceled due to rain.
The Korean Baseball Commission (KBO) announced that the NC and LG Twins’ match was canceled at 12:20 p.m. on the 3rd.
NC was scheduled to hold the opening game with LG at Changwon NC Park at 2 pm on this day.
NC’s Drew Luchinsky and LG’s Casey Cally were scheduled to start.

In particular, NC tried to conduct this opening game with a’free invitation to the audience’ to fulfill last year’s pledge to win. At Media Day in May last year, Yang Eui-ji, captain of the NC team, said,’If I win this year, I will shoot a free admission ticket for the opening game next year.’
According to the government’s quarantine guidelines, the admission ticket that NC tried to provide to fans on this day was about 5,000 seats, which is 30% of the total capacity of Changwon NC Park (excluding non-designated seats).
However, the game was canceled due to the rain when the tickets were sold out, and the fans of the Changwon home team, who had been waiting at the entrance to the baseball field with umbrellas, also had to step back.
NC announced that it has decided to hold the free invitation event again at the home game against Hanwha Eagles on April 16th.
Various opening game events prepared on this day were also postponed.
The opening performance of the honor guard of the Jinhae Naval Base Command and the hoisting ceremony of the championship pennant will be held in the match on the 4th of the following day.
The special performance of rocker Jung Hong-il, attracting the attention of the locals, will be held at the home game against Hanwha Eagles on April 17th.
Jung Hong-il is a rocker from Gyeongnam who appeared on the JTBC program’Singer Gain’ and became a hot topic.
On the other hand, if NC wins the opening game this season, they will achieve a record of 6 consecutive wins in the opening game for the first time ever in the KBO League.
NC won the opening game of the regular season from 2016 to 2020 and is recording 5 consecutive wins in the opening game.
KBO League’s previous Doosan Base, Samsung Lions, and Lotte Giants have won five straight victories in the opening game, just like NC.
