The quarantine authorities took measures to isolate the same group (cohort quarantine) at Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, where a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) was infected.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 30th, there were 27 confirmed cases of group infection related to Hanyang University Hospital as of 0 o’clock on the day, of which 22 new patients were confirmed on the 29th. Of the 27 confirmed patients at Hanyang University Hospital, 10 hospital patients, 2 staff, 8 caregivers, and 7 family members. They are all managed as patients with Seoul outbreak.

The group infection at Hanyang University Hospital was discovered when a family member of an inpatient was first confirmed on the 27th.

The quarantine authorities have examined 213 people, including contacts, except for the first confirmed cases. Of these, 26 positive and 149 negative were found, and 39 of them have yet to obtain test results.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government took measures to isolate the 15th floor of Hanyang University Hospital, where the patient came from, as a cohort. In addition, an in-depth epidemiological investigation, investigation of the movement of confirmed patients, identification of contacts, investigation of infection routes, and emergency quarantine disinfection are conducted.

Group infections that occurred in the’Seoul Station Hope Support Center’ and’Seoul Station Emergency Shelter’, a homeless support facility in the Seoul Station Plaza in Jung-gu, are also spreading.

As of 0:00 on the 30th, the number of cumulative confirmed cases of this group infection is 42 nationwide, and 41 of them excluding one of them are managed as confirmed cases in Seoul. Of these, 22 are new patients who tested positive on the 29th.

The first confirmed case was one employee living in Tasido, which was confirmed on the 17th. The quarantine authorities have so far examined 303 people, excluding the first confirmed cases. Among them, 41 people, including one coworker and 40 homeless people using the facility, were tested positive, 242 were negative, and the test results of the remaining 20 were not yet available. The city of Seoul is looking for the route of infection through an in-depth epidemiological investigation and is confirming additional contacts.
