Paris Saint-Germain and Mauricio Pochettino take a leap forward
[시사포커스 / 이근우 기자] Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) replaced Thomas Tuchel as former manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Mauricio Pochettino.
On the 3rd (Korean time), PSG said, “Director Pochettino becomes the command tower of League 1 PSG. We are pleased to announce the new news of Pochettino. Director Pochettino has signed a contract with PSG until June 30, 2022, and includes a one-year option.”
Pochettino, who was hardened by Tottenham due to poor performance in November 2019, was connected to various clubs, but did not actually take office. Afterwards, as soon as the manager Tuhel became hard, he connected with PSG and signed a contract, and returned to the scene after a year and two months.
Coach Pochettino played for PSG from 2001 to 2003. Coach Pochettino, who revealed his intention to join PSG in an interview with French media’RMC Sports’ in 2016, is known to have signed a contract with PSG after rejecting proposals from FC Barcelona, AS Monaco, and Benfica.
After PSG’s announcement, Director Pochettino said, “I am happy and honored to be the new director of PSG. PSG has always been a special place in my mind. I came back to PSG with a lot of ambition and humility, and I desperately want to quickly join the best players in the world.”
Meanwhile, coach Pochettino is expected to make his debut in the match against Saint-Etienne on the 7th.
