It was tentatively counted that the number of inoculations exceeded 16,000 on the 26th, when the first vaccination of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine in Korea began.

According to the quarantine authorities, as of 6 p.m. on that day, the number of domestic Corona 19 vaccinations was tentatively counted at 11,813. An official from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said, “Vaccinations are smoothly being vaccinated across the country, and the exact number of vaccinations must be counted after all vaccinations are over, but it has exceeded 10,000. To date, no serious adverse reactions have been reported.”

Corona 19 vaccination began all over the country this morning. It has been one year and 37 days since the 20th of January last year when Corona 19 landed in Korea. The first target was 289,000 people who were hospitalized, inhabited, and workers under the age of 65 in 4156 nursing hospitals nationwide and 4156 nursing homes for the elderly. The vaccine used for the first vaccination was the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine.

On the 25th, the day before vaccination, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said, “There is no separate’domestic number 1 vaccinator’ as vaccination is carried out simultaneously across the country at 9 am on the 26th.” In a briefing on the 24th, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) chief Jung Eun-kyung explained, “In the order of vaccination, residents under 65 years of age, inpatients, and workers in nursing homes are eligible for vaccination.”

However, contrary to the plan on this day, an inoculator who received an injection at 8:45 a.m. 15 minutes early came out. According to Nowon-gu, the vaccination started quickly considering the waiting people. This is Lee Kyung-soon, 61, who received a vaccine at the Nowon-gu Health Center in Seoul. Mr. Lee is working as a nursing care worker at Sanggye Nursing Home. After the vaccination, Mr. Lee said, “I feel relieved that I was given the Corona 19 vaccine, and I thank the government authorities and local governments for their efforts to get the vaccine.”
