Chairman Chung Mong-gyu, who was inaugurated as the 54th president of the Korea Football Association and began his third term, completed the appointment of the executive department.
The Korean Football Association (KFA) held a general meeting of delegates at 10:30 am on the 27th at the Soccer Center in Seoul Newspaper and announced new executives.
KFA appointed a total of 22 executives and 2 auditors, including 6 vice chairmen, 5 subcommittee chairs, and 11 board members. The 54th executive department consisted of 29 directors (including the chairman) and 2 auditors, and the appointment of the remaining 7 executives was delegated to Chairman Chung Mong-gyu.
The six vice-presidents unprecedentedly appointed people with expertise in each business area.
Eunah Hong (41, Women’s Football & Referee) Professor at Ewha Womans University, Byeongji Kim (51, Living Football & Expanding the Base) Kim Byeongji, Chairman of Sports Culture Promotion Agency, Daeeun Kim (56, City Provincial Association) President of Jeonbuk Football Association, Hyunhyun Cho (61, Daegwan & Football Center) ) Vice-Chairman, Lee Yong-soo (62, technology & strategy) Sejong University professor, and Choi Young-il (55, competition management) were appointed. Professor Eunah Hong, a former international judge, became KFA’s first female vice chairman.
The five subcommittee chairs aimed at maintaining consistency in the implementation of existing policies. Previously, Pan-gon Kim (52), Chairman of the Power Reinforcement Committee, Geung-Yeon Jo (60), Chairman of the Competition, Daewoo Yoo (69), Chairman of the Ethics Committee, and Chang-hee Seo (58), were reappointed. In addition, Lee Chun-soo (40), former head of the Incheon United Power Reinforcement Office, was newly appointed as the chairman of the Social Contribution Committee. Chairman Kim Pan-gon left the position of vice chairman to focus on preparing for the World Cup.
Director Park Kyung-hoon (60), who was announced in advance, was appointed as the executive director in charge of the association’s household affairs, and Jeon Han-jin (51), secretary general, was reappointed.
The board of directors has also changed drastically. In order to reflect the voice of the field in the policy, people from various fields such as broadcasting, game supervisors, administrators, etc., were appointed while attending leaders from elementary school to professionals.

In addition, Chae-hee Park (48), professor of Hanche University, Jin-hee Kim (40), game supervisor, and announcer Shin A-young (34), will join the board.
For the administrative audit, Kang Seong-deok (56), president of Chungbuk Football Association and Lee Tae-ho (60), former vice president of Samil Accounting Firm, will be reappointed.
Regarding the appointment of the executive department, Chairman Chung Mong-gyu said, “Over 60% of the board of directors has been newly formed, except for the sub-committee chairs who need policy continuity. Female executives including the first female vice-chairman are moderated while the average age is younger in their early 50s. I will organize and lead the change of KFA.”
On this day, at the general meeting of the delegates, the articles of incorporation were revised for the term of office of executives. The existing executives’ term of office was four years, but the 54th executive department changed the term of offices of executives excluding the chairman to two years. The intention is to determine whether or not to continue working by evaluating the two years of activities.
It also approved the 2020 settlement amount. In 2020, KFA recorded an income of 66.58 billion won and an expenditure of 70.29 billion won. Compared to the previous year’s 2019 settlement plan (income 94.15 billion won and expenditure 92.2 billion won), income decreased by 29.4% and expenditure decreased by 23.8%.
In terms of income, as various competitions and competitions were canceled in the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), admission revenue decreased by 78.2% to 60 million won, 99.3% compared to the previous year (2019), and 2,230 billion won. On the other hand, it minimized losses by reducing expenses by about 22 billion won through efforts to reduce costs.
