‘Distribution rivals’ appearing in the Korean professional baseball world, Shinsegae Group E-Mart team and Lotte Giants will face off against the opening of the 2021 season.

On the 2nd, the Korean Baseball Commission (KBO) announced the schedule of the regular KBO game for the 2021 season, which will start on April 3rd.

The regular season starts on April 3 and will play 16 games between teams and 144 games per team, a total of 720 games. From July 19 to August 9, the season is temporarily suspended due to the participation of the national baseball team in the Tokyo Olympics.

The opening game was organized into the home games of the top five teams in the final team rankings in 2019.

Jamsil (KIA-Doosan), Incheon (Lotte-SK), Changwon (LG-NC), Suwon (Hanhwa-KT), and Gocheok (Samsung-Keeum) are held in two consecutive matches.

Incheon is the most interesting place. The Shinsegae Group baseball team, which acquired SK Wyverns, will make their debut with Lotte at Incheon SK Happy Dream Stadium, their home stadium.

SK will use the team name’SK’ until the 5th of next month, and from March 6th, it will start playing with the new Shinsegae Group team name.

Shinsegae Group and Lotte Group are considered representative distribution rivals.

Until last year, if KT Wiz and SK Wyverns had been in a’competitor for telecommunications companies’ battle, it is expected that a new world will enter this year and confrontation between competitors in the distribution industry will be observed.

Choi Jung-eun, a representative hitter of SK, who is running a spring camp in Jeju Island, said, “I want to wear a new uniform of Shinsegae Group and meet fans with a new attitude.”

Children’s Day Games on May 5 will be held in Jamsil (LG-Doosan), Busan (KIA-Lotte), Changwon (SK-NC), Gocheok (kt-Keeum), and Daejeon (Samsung-Hanwha) according to the biennial system. .

KBO said, “The 2021 Shinhan Bank’s SOL KBO regular season game schedule is organized by minimizing the distance traveled by club, and taking into account the number of home games and monthly home games on weekends and holidays as equally as possible.”
