The controversy over probability-type items is emerging as a major issue in the politics beyond the game industry and game users. The whole amendment bill of the Game Industry Promotion Act (amendment to the Game Act) is emerging as a major issue of the politics beyond the game industry.

Rep. Lee Sang-heon (Democratic Party) of the 21st National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee proposed an amendment to the game law, including the disclosure of probability of probability items, followed by Rep. In the 20th National Assembly, Rep. Woong-Rae Noh (Dubueo Democratic Party) proposed an amendment to the game law containing the disclosure of probability of probability-type items, and Rep. Jung Woo-taek (Saenuri Party) also proposed a related bill in the 20th National Assembly following the 19th National Assembly.

In addition, Rep. Lee Won-wook (and Democratic Party) proposed an amendment to the game law that requires the use of games that sell probability items with an expected value of 10% or less to be classified as unavailable for teenagers.

All of these bills were automatically repealed at the end of each legislative term.

The game industry is tense as probability-type items emerge as an issue in the National Assembly. The reason is that this controversy can overshadow the negative image of the game industry as a whole.
