Since 2019, LG Energy Solutions and SK Innovation have been struggling with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) over the infringement of battery trade secret patents. LG Energy Solutions filed a lawsuit that SK Innovation took an employee from LG and removed the technology it had secured. Since then, SK Innovation filed a counter lawsuit stating that there was no technology leakage due to voluntary turnover. Previously, in February last year, ITC raised the hand of LG Energy Solutions in a preliminary judgment, but SK Innovation has raised an objection. The final judgment comes out on the 10th of next month.

After Prime Minister Chung’s remarks, LG Energy Solutions said, “We are doing our best to reach an agreement before (ITC’s) final decision, and we are actively working to resolve the issue.” But I look forward to any suggestions to discuss.”
