The number of new coronavirus infections (Corona 19) in Korea showed a modest decline in recent years, and then again surpassed 400 on the 25th.

This school is an unlicensed educational facility operated by’IM Mission’. Every year, young people aged 16-18 are selected to teach Christian faith and middle and high school courses. As students live in a dormitory 24 hours a day, additional confirmed cases may come out.

Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun pointed out at the meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the 25th, “Because the school is operated with a nationwide network, we have to take very seriously with this situation.” He added, “I am concerned that it will become the second Shincheonji or BTJ World Center situation.” Yonhap News reported on the 25th that the first symptoms appeared on the 12th at IEM International School but were not tested. There is also growing concern that related outbreaks may occur in other regions as well. The government plans to decide whether to adjust the current social distancing this week.

There were 125 confirmed cases in Daejeon that day. In addition, there were 19 cases in Busan, 15 in Gwangju, 11 in Gyeongnam, 14 in each of Gyeongbuk and Daegu, 8 in Chungbuk, 13 in Chungnam, 2 in each of Ulsan and Sejong, and 3 in each of Jeonnam and Gangwon. There were no confirmed cases in Jeju and Jeonbuk that day.

The number of deaths increased by 11 from the previous day to 1360. The average fatality rate in Korea is 1.80%.

The number of confirmed cases, which had gone down to 300 in 54 days on the 18th, has since recorded the number of confirmed cases that have gone up and down from 300 to 500. Following the day before 300 confirmed cases were released due to the influence of the weekend, this day went up to 400 again as an unexpected and sudden group infection occurred in Daejeon.
