Regarding the vaccination of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19), which will begin soon on the 20th, Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun said, “The government will make every effort to ensure that this vaccination is successfully carried out by mobilizing its national capabilities to restore daily life to the public as soon as possible. I will do everything.”

Prime Minister Chung said at a meeting at SK Bioscience headquarters located in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do this morning, “The AstraZeneca vaccine will be shipped for the first time next week at the Andong plant of SK Bioscience, and the first historic vaccination will be made in Korea on the 26th.”

Prime Minister Chung’s visit was accompanied by Chang-won Choi, Vice Chairman of SK Discovery, Jae-yong Ahn, CEO of SK Bioscience, Tae-joon Cho, head of SK Bioscience Development Strategy Office, Sang-hyuk Park and Gyeong-man Kim, members of the Democratic Party, and head of the Transport Support Division of the Central Vaccination Promotion Team, Park Ju-kyung.

The Prime Minister’s office explained that this visit was made to check the distribution readiness of the SK Bioscience Integrated Control Center, which is in charge of the distribution and transport of Corona 19 vaccines and the operation of customized cold chains for each vaccine, and to encourage the people concerned.

Prime Minister Chung received a report of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution readiness status from SK Bioscience’s Development Strategy Officer Cho Tae-jun, visited the integrated control room to check the IoT-based real-time monitoring system, and examined the vaccine container.

The integrated control room monitors the location of the vaccine and the proper temperature of the transport container during vaccine delivery in real time, and manages emergency situations.

Prime Minister Jung said, “Corona 19 vaccines have difficult storage and distribution conditions depending on the product, and their expiration date is short, so customized distribution management will ultimately determine the success or failure of vaccination. He stressed, “We are making full preparations, such as conducting simulation training for each vaccine so that it can be safely transported to the final vaccination center and the quality of the vaccine is maintained.”

He expressed his gratitude to SK Bioscience officials, who played a pivotal role in vaccination, such as vaccine distribution and transportation, and customized cold chain operation, and said, “Because vaccinations must be made to all the people within a short time, do not slow down the tension. Please try to manage the distribution that does not exist.”
