People’s Power 34.2% vs. Democratic Party 28.7%

On the 3rd, a result of a public opinion poll indicating that the preference for the next presidential power of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol exceeded 30%, and in the same survey, the positive and negative evaluation of President Moon Jae-in recorded the lowest and highest ever.
According to a survey conducted by Real Meter on the basis of YTN’s request for 1,000 people aged 18 and older across the country on the 1st and 2nd (±3.1% points for 95% of sample error), the positive evaluation of President Moon’s performance of state administration was 2.8 from the previous week. It fell by percentage points to 34.1%. On the other hand, negative evaluation reached 61.7%, surpassing 60% for the first time in a real meter survey. Previously, President Moon’s record low approval rating in the Real Meter survey was 36.6% in the second week of December. The negative evaluation was the highest at 59.7% in the 4th week of December.
By region, positive evaluations were high in Gwangju and Jeolla (50.2%), Jeju (42.9%), Gangwon (37.2%), and Incheon and Gyeonggi (37.0%). In Daegu, Gyeongbuk (81.1%), Daejeon, Sejong, Chungcheong (67.7%), Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam (66.4%), and Seoul (60.7%), negative evaluations were high. By ideological orientation, negative evaluation (68.0%) was higher than positive evaluation (30.1%) in the middle class. Even among the shamans, negative evaluations (68.0%) significantly outpaced positive evaluations (19.4%).
As for the party approval rate, the people’s power was 34.2%, and the Democratic Party’s 28.7%, with the people’s power ahead within the margin of error. The gap between the two parties was 5.5 percentage points, which was within the margin of error. This was followed by the People’s Party of 9.9%, the Justice Party of 5.6%, and the Open Democratic Party of 4.2%.
