President Moon Jae-in was vaccinated at a public health center in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 23rd, when the AstraZeneca Corona 19 vaccination began for people 65 years of age or older. As if conscious of the controversy over anxiety about vaccines, President Moon emphasized at the vaccination site, “It doesn’t hurt at all because the injection is well placed. There is no problem at all.” There has been an argument that President Moon should take the lead, just as other national leaders have been vaccinated on a trial basis to alleviate anxiety about the AstraZeneca vaccine.

After the vaccination, President Moon waited for 30 minutes according to the manual and returned to the Blue House. He then presided over the staff meeting for about an hour and a half, and said, “Since vaccination is proceeding smoothly, it is necessary to increase the vaccination rate further to accelerate return to daily life.”

President Moon received vaccinations in the earliest order among those over 65 to attend the G7 Summit held in the UK on June 11-13. This is because the AstraZeneca vaccine requires the first dose and the second dose at an interval of about two months. Usually, medical activities inside and outside the President are in charge of the ROK Army Seoul District Hospital. However, President Moon visited the Jongno-gu public health center to inoculate with the delegation conducting the G7 summit.

On this day, including inside and outside President Moon, Seo Hoon, head of the National Security Office, Yoo Yeon-sang, the second deputy head of the National Security Office, Kim Hyung-jin, the second deputy chief of the National Security Office, Tak Hyun-min, the assistant secretary of the medical service, Shin Ji-yeon, the first assistant secretary, Choi Sang-young, the second assistant secretary, Kang Min-seok, a spokesman for the Blue House, an administrator of the first affiliated office, a security service. Nine essential attendants at the G7 summit, including employees, received the vaccine together.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun delivered the news of President Moon’s vaccination and said, “If it helps the people to participate in the vaccination with peace of mind, I, as the company headquarter, will always get the AstraZeneca vaccine first.”
