For the first time since the military, President Moon Jae-in attended the graduation ceremony of the Armed Forces Nursing Academy and awarded insignia directly to officers in charge on behalf of his parents.

On the 5th, President Moon congratulated 80 cadets who had been reborn as elite nursing officers by attending the graduation and appointment ceremony held at Jaun University, Daejeon.

In 2008, the ‘Seon Hyo-seon-sang’, created to inherit the noble spirit of sacrifice of the late Major Seon Hyo-seon, who died in bad weather while returning after evacuating an emergency helicopter at night was received by Subcommittee Song Chae-yoon. Sowi Song, who was selected as the winner on behalf of the cadets of the Korean secretary who ran to the scene of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) quarantine without fear for the people, is the first nursing officer to receive the Seon Hyo-seon Award on his appointment. In addition, the presidential award awarded to the commissioned officer who achieved the best performance was awarded by Ensign Kim Min-joo.

President Moon said, “Last year was a year when we rediscovered the importance of nursing officers.” In the early days of the spread of Corona 19, cadets accelerated their graduation to run near the difficult people, and’It is an honor to be able to devote ourselves to the people and the country.’ He said he wore protective clothing while expressing his determination.

“The public had hope that young nursing officers could overcome Corona 19 through their resolution, and nursing officers kept the health and safety of the people with their professionalism as medical personnel and loyalty as soldiers.”

President Moon also said, “With the reorganization of the military medical system, we will fully support the military medical staff, including nursing officers, so that they can devote themselves to medical activities.” We will install women’s essential facilities.”

President Moon later attached insignia to all officers in charge on behalf of the parents who were unable to attend the event due to Corona 19. Mrs. Kim Jung-suk shook hands with the appointed nursing officers one by one.
