“Ethically, I think everyone should get the vaccine,” he said. “It’s a matter of not only your health and your life, but the lives of others.” He added that denying the vaccine is very dangerous, endangering lives.

Earlier, on the 2nd, the Vatican City Health Authority, where about 450 residents live, said in a statement that the corona 19 vaccination will begin in earnest as early as mid-month. The Vatican City State’s health authorities said, “We expect all residents and workers to get a sufficient amount of corona vaccine.”

The Holy See also revealed that it had bought a cryogenic refrigerator for the purpose of planning the vaccination. This suggested that the vaccine to be met by the Pope is a Pfizer-Bioentech jointly developed vaccine that must be stored at -70 degrees Celsius.

Reuters reported that “Pope Francis was ill while living in his hometown of Argentina as a young man, and was potentially vulnerable to Corona 19 due to the removal of part of his lungs during treatment.”

Meanwhile, the official Vatican website reported that Fabrizio Socorsi, 78, the Pope’s personal physician, recently died of complications from Corona 19. Socorsi has been the chief physician of the Pope since 2015 and was recently being treated for cancer.

In an interview with Canale 5, the Pope also spoke about the recent congressional riots led by supporters of US President Donald Trump.

The Pope strongly condemned it as “denying democracy.” “Anyone who goes against democracy and the common good should be condemned,” the Pope said. “This violence will serve as an opportunity to correct what is wrong.” Pope added, “We must learn to understand and reflect, not to repeat mistakes.”
