The police, who are investigating allegations of real estate speculation, have launched a forced investigation into the Blue House presidential guard.
From 3:10 pm on the 6th, the Special Investigation Unit of the South Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency confiscated and searched four locations, including the Blue House Security Office, the headquarters of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), and the residence of the security staff. The search for seizure, which lasted about 3 hours, ended around 6:15 pm on the day.
It was confirmed that Mr. A, the head of the Blue House Security Office, purchased 1,888m2 (about 571 pyeong) of land in Noonsa-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, the third new city area, in cooperation with his brother’s spouse and family around September 2017.
The Blue House said on the 19th of last month that an employee of the Presidential Security Service confirmed that the land was purchased in the 3rd new city area, and that it immediately took action on standby.
The security service staff started the Blue House security service in 2002, and the security service issued a stand-by measure immediately after confirming the facts related to the land transaction in the new city area.
The President’s Security Service announced, “We plan to actively cooperate in the seizure and search of the investigative agency related to the alleged speculation in the 3rd new city of its employees.”
A police official said, “Based on the data obtained through seizure and search, we plan to check whether the information inside LH was used for land transactions and what information the brothers exchanged.”
