Pohang MBC reporter’s notice of legal response to “selling of local broadcasting wholesale money”

Reporter Pohang MBC, who reported on the detection of large amounts of tritium (radioactive substances) at the Wolseong nuclear power plant, accused the report of’Where are local broadcasters talking’,’political fake news’, and’riding water’, chairman of the Seoul National Assembly Party, Kim Yoon He criticized “Selling local broadcasters for wholesale money without any grounds”. In particular, this reporter said that the claim that it was a word broadcast was absurd. Pohang MBC announced that it had decided to take legal action against Chairman Yoon Kim.

He criticized Korean Hydro & Nuclear Power and some nuclear engineering majors as insulting the local residents for claiming that the amount of tritium from the residents of the Wolseong nuclear power plant ate 3.4 bananas and 1 gram of anchovy.

On the evening of the 18th, Pohang MBC reporter said, “Where local broadcasters have talked about” and “Where local broadcasters have talked about” and “Where local broadcasters have talked about” and “ It is possible that it is political fake news.”

Reporter Jang said, “It is an unacceptable argument,” and “It is true that up to 713,000 becquerels of tritium were produced from the groundwater of the Wolseong nuclear power plant, and that the tritium is higher than that of other nuclear power plants.” He criticized, “Our report is Chimsobong, and we have to provide evidence that this Wolsong nuclear power plant is safe, but there is no such basis.”

Reporter Jang said, “Our report is fake news, and it is a claim that we can not trust all local broadcasters to say that it was reported by local broadcasters.” Isn’t that saying that I’m writing an article even if I don’t have it?” Reporter Jang criticized that “it lowered the credibility of our article,” and “it undermined the quality, credibility and honesty of our article.” Reporter Jang said, “Based on the KHNP report, we confirmed all of the KHNP’s position and reported it while securing evidence. However, since we were handing over all the articles we wrote and the articles to be written in the future as wholesale money, it caused great damage. I decided to go ahead.”

Reporter Jang said, “I don’t know why we are broadcasting,” and said, “The report and data were in mid-December last year, and the investigation has already been conducted in mid-December last year.” It started a long time ago,” he explained. Reporter Jang emphasized, “It was the first case that tritium was detected when we received the data, but then should we not report it?” “I am in an investigation, so I doubt when I should not report it.” He said, “If you know what is worth the news, it is natural to report it, but it is more problematic to not report it without good reason.” He refuted that it was an absurd accusation, saying it was also the content that had already been reported by the Hankyoreh.

In addition, in response to the claims of Han Suwon and KAIST Professor Jeong Yong-hun that the amount of tritium in the body of local residents ate 3.4 to 6 bananas or 1 gram of anchovy, reporter Jang said, “If it is not so harmful, why is the standard value of 40,000 becquerels/liter ( “Why does the planned emission standard exist?” he said, “I doubt that the Korean government is against the Japanese government’s attempts to release Fukushima contaminated water, and whether it is pointless and wrong to criticize it.” In particular, reporter Jang said, “I see it as insulting the residents living around the nuclear power plant.” “I also live in Gyeongju, but when the Gyeongju earthquake struck four years ago, my fear was really great. If there is an earthquake, you can evacuate, but if a nuclear power plant is affected by an earthquake, all earthquake evacuation drills can be useless, and it could lead to an uninhabitable area.” He said that after the earthquake, negative public opinion among residents about the nuclear power plant has increased, and that they are feeling the importance of safety more.

Reporter Jang emphasized that the safety issue of nuclear power plant facilities is more essential than the debate over the existence of tritium. He added, “I don’t think of investigating the possibility of leaking the spent nuclear fuel tank, which is a high-level nuclear waste, and just talking about anchovy bananas is like telling me to look at the moon and telling my fingers.”
