On the 30th, Professor Suh Gyeong-deok of Sungshin Women’s University pointed out that “Baidu, China’s largest portal site, is distorting the nationality of poet Yun Dong-ju to China.”

Professor Seo said, “A young Korean studying in China has informed us that information related to Yun Dong-ju was written incorrectly in Baidu. It is more important not only to be angry with China’s distortion of history, but to try to correct it correctly by telling exactly what went wrong. Do” he emphasized.

The 30th is the 102nd year of Yun Dong-ju’s birth. As of this day, if you check the Baidu Encyclopedia, Yun Dong-ju’s nationality is’China’ and the nation is’Chosun tribes’ (朝鮮族).

In addition, at the entrance to the village of Longjing, a Korean autonomy in Jilin Province, China, where Yun Dong-ju’s birthplace is located, it is written as’Chinese Korean-Chinese patriotic poet’.

Professor Seo pointed out that “In the village of Longjing, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Region in Jilin Province, China, there is the birthplace of Yun Dong-ju, and it is a big problem that the entrance sign says’Chinese Korean Patriotic Poet’.” It is patriotism, which means to love one’s own country, because it is written as a Korean-Chinese poet who loved China.

In addition, Professor Seo pointed out that the nationality of not only Yun Dong-ju but also independence activists Bong-Chang Lee and Bong-gil Yoon was introduced as’Chosun’ and the nation as’Chosun tribes’. In addition, he explained that the nationalities of Yu Gwan-soon, Kim Gu, Ahn Chang-ho, Lee Hoe-young, and Hong Beom-do were correctly marked as “Korea,” but the nation was not marked, Shin Sin-sik had no nationality part, and Dong-nyeong Lee left the nationality and ethnic part blank.

According to Chinese sources, Baidu marked Ahn Jung-geun and Kim Gu as’Chosun tribes’ in the encyclopedia until November of this year, and then corrected it at the request of South Korea. Chinese sources said that “consistently asking companies and ministries in question” to correct this distortion. “Senior Kim Gu and Doctor Ahn Jung-geun also confirmed that the mark as Korean-Chinese was revised last month,” he added.

Prof. Seo’s team, who recently protested that the Baidu Encyclopedia had incorrectly posted kimchi that it originated in China, saying that kimchi is a Chinese-style pickled vegetable, called Pao Chai, sent a protest e-mail to Baidu that pointed out the typographical errors of Yun Dong-ju and independence activists. It was decided to launch a’global Korean history promotion campaign’ against the persistent distortion of history. The Korean government is also planning to continue to demand correction.
