In the Gangnam area of ​​Seoul, where high-priced apartments are concentrated, as well as Gangbuk, Sejong, and other provinces, the backlash from the soaring public price was greater than expected, and a number of complexes that actually protested with the competent ward office or made a group objection were confirmed. In Gangnam, Seoul, where comprehensive real estate tax is expected to increase due to the large number of expensive apartments, residents such as Eunma Apartment in Daechi-dong gathered opinions against the increase in the official price, and Yeoksam 2nd I-Park in Yeoksam-dong, etc., provided guidance to residents on how to submit their opinions. Encouragement to file an objection.

There were also places that responded to the public price increase in partnership with neighboring apartments. On the 23rd of last month, the Association of Resident Representatives in five nearby complexes, including Godeok Grasium in Godeok-dong, Gangdong-gu, and Goddeok Arteon, in Sangil-dong, sent an official letter to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Tourism, Gangdong-gu Office, and the local council’s office requesting a reduction in the official price.

In the Gangbuk region, residents such as Hyundai Woosung Apartment in Hagye-dong, Nowon-gu, protested the surge in public prices and took a collective action. They encouraged individual objections through group chat rooms, etc., and turned the group joint list. Nowon-gu posted a rate of increase of 34.66% this year, ranking second in the country after Sejong City (70.68%) and the highest in Seoul. Residents of these apartments demanded a recalculation of the published price, saying that the average house price rose by 20-30% over the past year, but this year most of the official price rose to 40%.

Local governments are also raising their voices, saying, “There is a problem” in calculating the government’s official price. Some apartment complexes in Sejong City’s First Village, Gajae Village, and Saemoom Village have been witnessed receiving consent to receive opinions on the published prices of apartments through resident bulletin boards. Sejong City announced that it had submitted an opinion on lowering the published price by holding a briefing on municipal administration. In Sejong City this year, the number of apartment houses with more than 900 million won, which is subject to comprehensive real estate tax, is 1760 households, up 70 times from a year ago (25 households).

The government is planning to finalize the published price this year on the 29th after receiving an objection through the Internet real estate advertised price alert site, the competent city/gun/gu offices, and the Korea Real Estate Agency by this day.
