Petitioner, who introduced himself as one of the educators, said, “As one of the people of the Republic of Korea, I was thrilled to see this vice-chairman appealing for patriotism and filial piety with tears at a trial recently. I sincerely appeal for the President to give me a favor so that I can do my best,” he wrote.
“Vice-Chairman Lee said, “In the past few years, he has undergone investigations, trials, and even jail.” He pointed out that he suffered too much mentally and physically from investigations, trials, prisons, etc. for several years in this difficult situation, and he fully reflected and apologized. .
“How can a company reject the request of the living power?” He added, “It is not voluntary, but it has responded to the request of power, so the passive side is strong. “There is a lot of understanding, a lot of regret, and a lot of pity because no businessmen in the world could have rejected the request for power in that situation.”
Petitioner Won-in said of Vice Chairman Lee as “the pride of our Republic and the force of export.” He said, “With the late Chairman Lee Kun-hee, Samsung has grown into the world’s number one company beyond Korea’s number one in the electronics sector, and is playing a big part in supporting Korea by leading the way in foreign currency earning as an export force.”
In particular, he emphasized that Samsung Electronics is in charge of a large part of the tax in Korea and provides numerous jobs in the country, including direct employment of hundreds of thousands of people as well as indirect employment.
The petitioner mentioned the time of the spread of Corona 19 last year and said, “Samsung has played a lot of role so that we can quickly import masks even when raw materials are insufficient.” “Mask manufacturers have passed on production know-how so that they can quickly produce large quantities of masks. Currently, more than 19,000 people agreed to the petition. It has exceeded the standard of ‘100 people with prior consent’ and is being reviewed by the public petition bulletin board manager.
Vice-Chairman Lee has been imprisoned, released, and revoked for destruction for about four years since the start of a special prosecutor’s investigation into the Gukjeong Nongdan incident in 2016. On the 18th, about four years later, the case of Gukjeong Nongdan is about to be revoked.
Earlier, on December 30, last year, at the hearing of the 1st Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court (presiding judge Jung Joon-young), a special prosecutor demanded 9 years of imprisonment for Lee.
