A soccer leader from Daegu FC in professional football consistently assaulted a junior player during his active career, and suspicions were raised that the club assisted it.
On the 6th, on the Blue House National Petition Bulletin, a post titled’I want a fair punishment for the Daegu FC and the perpetrators, a professional soccer team who tolerated the facts of sexual harassment and violence against my younger brother.’
According to the post, the petitioner, who introduced himself as the older brother of the victim who was a Daegu FC player, complained that his younger brother suffered harassment, violence, and sexual harassment damage from a senior player in the team in 2018. It also claimed that KakaoTalk, text capture, and video were left to prove such damage.
In an article, petitioner said, “Even if the perpetrator was out or stayed out, he threatened to prevent him from leaving or to come in in the middle, and he threatened to’return torture if he returned to him.’ Even though the shin was torn, there was a case where several people dried it, but ignored it because it was an old man, and he grabbed his younger brother’s hairpin and pulled it up to the first floor to the fourth floor, locked the door, and continued the assault. I wrapped my clothes in my fists and hit them.”
“I sent KakaoTalk to my younger brother at bedtime and instructed him to keep the door open. After about an hour every day, he visited his roommate and asked his roommate to tie his hands and feet using a cord such as a dryer or a power outlet. While teasing, stuttering, and even touching or tapping the penis, it gave me a feeling of serious sexual humiliation that I didn’t want to think about.”
Petitioner also claimed that Daegu FC had tolerated this fact. The victim informed the club’s chief coach of the violence, but there was no action other than giving the offender a few days off from the exercise, so the assault continued.
Petitioner in particular raised suspicion that there is some kind of relationship, saying, “The perpetrator is currently in charge of the managerial position of a football club for a foundation operated by the club’s leadership.”
In a phone call with the Yeongnam Ilbo, Petitioner said, “The club cannot know. Even the coach at the time, who is currently in charge of the chief coach, informed the (younger brother) that he was assaulted while crying, and the entire club knew about the assault incident in the restaurant. Previously, the club officials showed evidence and asked for a solution, but there was no action, and the perpetrator suddenly called and apologized and tried to settle. I couldn’t find it, so I finally took courage to write it,” he said.
Mr. A, who was accused of being the perpetrator, tried to call several times, but he could not reach him.
The Daegu FC team expressed its position that it is grasping the exact facts about this.
The club official said, “The club was aware of what happened at the restaurant, and at the time the victim, the victim’s family, and the perpetrator agreed smoothly. Other cases presented by the victim were not mentioned at the time, so the club was not aware of it. Currently, the two sides agreed. I knew it was going on, but the matter spread like this and I’m trying to find out the facts,” he said.
