PGA’Title Shooter’ Lim Seong-jae “I will save my winning memory”

Lim Seong-jae is the first title shooter in the US Professional Golf (PGA) Tour.

In an interview posted on the PGA Tour on the morning of the 17th (Korean time), Lim Seong-jae said, “It seems to have a greater meaning because it is a contest with the qualification of defending champions.” Lim Sung-jae will compete in the Honda Classic held at the PGA National Champions Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA on the 18th. The Honda Classic is the competition that gave Im Seong-jae his first championship cup. In March of last year, Im Seong-jae beat Mackenzie Hughes (Canada)’s pursuit by one shot at this competition and kissed the trophy. It was my first achievement after the 50th PGA Tour tournament.

Im Seong-jae, who quenched his thirst for the first victory, participates in this competition as a defensive title defender. Lim Seong-jae said, “I am preparing similarly to other competitions. However, if I am a little greedy, I have a good memory of winning this place last year, so I will use that good memory well this year and try to maintain a good performance without mistakes for four days.” Lim Seong-jae showed confidence, saying, “After the tour was stopped due to a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), the initial performance was poor, but recently, my condition is rising again.”

In fact, Im Seong-jae is showing a great flow without ups and downs. Only one cut was eliminated in 16 competitions this season. Lim Seong-jae said, “I think I’m consistently good at the game this year, but sometimes there is one round ups and downs. “I am a bit disappointed about that,” he said. “If you play a little mentally or psychologically comfortably, it will help you achieve a good score for four days in a row.”

Lim Seong-jae also started managing to maintain a better physical condition. Recently, I joined hands with a separate fitness coach. Lim Seong-jae said, “It’s been about a month and a half since I trained. I haven’t been that strong yet, but I’m going to increase it little by little in the future,” he said. “I thought I would have to take better care of my body in order to run long. So, I have no injuries these days, and I am in good shape.”
