On the 3rd, the’Joint Statement Proposal Team of People Who Supported Park Won-soon and Opposes the Second Harassment of Victims’ released the results of the online signature campaign held from the 26th to the 31st of last month.

The joint statement proposal team consisted of 8 members, including former Seoul media secretary Lee Dae-ho, and Park Won-soon camp during the 2018 local mayoral election.

2711 citizens participated in the signature.

The joint statement contained the claim that “The act of writing and distributing posts that reveal the identity of the victim such as the victim’s name, face, etc., once again inflicts mental pain on the victim and makes it more difficult to return to daily life.”

In addition, he argued, “The data with the context deleted makes people who do not know the victim have a prejudice against the victim, and this is a great violence against the victim,” he said. “If you have any data to submit, contact the investigation agency and wait with the results of the investigation.”

Finally, they emphasized that they should help the victims by saying, “Please think of the value people expected from Park Won-soon.”

Earlier, on the 23rd of last month, former Seoul City Personnel Planning Secretary Min Gyeong-guk and Oh Seong-gyu, former Seoul Mayor’s Secretary General, released a handwritten letter sent by the victim to Mayor Park on Facebook.

Afterwards, Professor Minwoong Kim of Kyung Hee University’s Future Civilizations released the original handwritten letter on Facebook. Professor Kim revealed the victim’s real name in the letter and belatedly covered it.

Later, Professor Kim made an apology for revealing the victim’s real name, but explained that he shared his handwritten letter as’in order to inform people of the real truth’.
