On the 26th, the Power of the People Nomination Management Committee announced the candidates for the preliminary contest to nominate candidates for the Seoul/Busan mayors by-election.

Chairman Jeong Jin-seok said, “As a result of an interview focused on candidates for the by-election on April 7th, 8 Seoul and 6 Busan preliminary contestants were confirmed.”

Eight members have been confirmed in Seoul, including Kim Geun-sik, professor of the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Kyungnam University, Kim Seon-dong, former secretary general of the People’s Power, Na Gyeong-won, former mayor of Seoul, Oh Se-hoon, former Congressman Shin Won-hwan, Lee Seung-hyun, former Congressman Lee Jong-gu, and Seocho-gu president Cho Eun-hee.

In Busan, six people, including former Congressman Min-sik Park, former Vice Mayor Park Sung-hoon of Busan City, Dong-A University professor Park Hyung-jun, former Congressman Lee Eon-ju, former Congressman Lee Jin-bok, and Jeon Seong-ha, CEO of LF Energy, competed in the preliminary race.

Six people were cut off in Seoul and three in Busan.
