In a Thursday dialogue on the 28th, Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun will discuss the legalization plan for the loss compensation system with Kim Yong-beom, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Kang Seong-cheon, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and Yoon Hu-deok, chairman of the National Assembly’s Planning and Finance Committee.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office on the 25th, Prime Minister Chung will hold a Thursday dialogue on the subject of legalization of the loss compensation system at the Samcheong-dong consulate in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 28th.

Interest groups such as Lee Woo-jin, professor of economics at Korea University and Woo Seok-jin, professor of economics at Myongji University, and other interested parties such as the Federation of Small Businessmen and Korea Food Service Federation, also participate.

The Prime Minister’s office initially attempted to conduct a Thursday dialogue on the subject of carbon neutrality, but it is said that last week’s proposal by Prime Minister Chung changed the subject as the loss compensation system emerged as a key issue.

An official in the Prime Minister’s Office explained, “We will talk about the basis of the loss compensation system, the system such as whether to use a general law or a special law, and the direction of support procurement.”

Prime Minister Chung said on the 20th that the institutionalization of loss compensation has formed consensus with President Moon Jae-in, and that the government will legislate, but controversy arose when Kim Yong-beom, vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, made a remark that the introduction was difficult.

In response, Prime Minister Chung directly ordered the Ministry of the Interior to prepare a law on the loss compensation system the next day. Since then, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy is considering legalizing the loss compensation system internally.

However, Vice Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki and Minister of Strategy and Finance said in an interview with the Kyunghyang Shinmun on the same day, “Relevant legislative legislation such as 100 trillion won for 4 months is practically impossible (promotion).” It has to be done.”

Accordingly, attention is expected to be focused on the Thursday dialogue on the 28th when the party government discusses the institutionalization of the loss compensation system.
