Former Minister of SMEs and Startups Park Young-sun was elected as a candidate for the Democratic Party along with the re-election of the Mayor of Seoul on April 7th.
Byun Jae-il, chairman of the Democratic Party Election Commissioner, at the Seoul Mayor’s Candidate Election Counting Ceremony held at the Grand Auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Central Party in Seoul on the afternoon of the 1st. Park Young-seon (69.56%) and Woo Sang-ho (30.44%) revealed that candidate Park Young-seon was elected as the Mayor of Seoul.
In the case of the right party vote, Chairman Byun has a total of 147642 votes for the rights party, and out of the 59222 effective votes by the rights party, the candidate Park Young-sun 3,7328 votes, and the Woo Sang-ho candidate 21,898 votes. According to the results of the ARS vote by the electoral group of the rights party, out of the number of votes of 19799, candidate Park Young-seon had 11,883 votes, and candidate Sang-ho Woo had 6,916 votes. As a result of the online voting and ARS, candidate Park Young-seon was 52,211 votes (63.54%) and Woo Sang-ho was 28,814 (36.46%).
In addition, as a result of the mobile phone virtual electoral vote, candidate Park Young-seon was 71.48%, and Woo Sang-ho was 28.52%. As a result of the summation, candidate Park Young-sun was elected with a rather large gap.
Candidate Park Young-sun, who was elected as the Democratic Party candidate of the Seoul Mayor, said in his acceptance speech of the Mayor of Seoul, “If the wind blows hard, they will build a fence, but some will also build a windmill.” “I will become the mayor of Seoul that turns crisis into opportunity.” He explained that the Black Death brought the end of the Middle Ages and the opening of the Renaissance, and that the transition from the carriage to the automobile era during the Spanish flu pandemic 100 years ago brought the city to a car-centric city, resulting in centralization. Candidate Park argued that centralization of the city could no longer be the competitive edge of the city, and insisted that Seoul after Corona 19 should go to a people-centered city, a green multi-nuclear city.

Candidate Park emphasized his pledge to make Seoul a 21-minute living area city where hospitals and libraries can be shopped and strolled within 21 minutes. Candidate Park said that the common people would advance their dream of finding a home and provide a ladder of hope with interest-free loans to young small business owners.
Candidate Park said that he led the reform of the law, such as △the Separation of Finance and Economy Act and economic democratization chaebol reform as a member of the National Assembly, △removing the obligation to obey the prosecution order by the police △granting the right to initiate investigations by the police △disclosing the judgment of the judge BBK clarified the truth and insisted that he would step by step solving the Seoul issue with patience and perseverance, as if he revealed the reality of Choi Soon-sil. Candidate Park said, “We will create Seoul, a world-centered city that flies far beyond the border, as if it was the first Korean reporter to host a live satellite broadcast in Moscow during the Cold War and open a live broadcast from Pyongyang to Seoul.”
He continued, “I became the first female main anchor, an overseas correspondent, and the head of the economy, and I will become the first female mayor of Seoul through the first female policy committee chairman, the judiciary chairman, and the in-house representative at the National Assembly. Park Young-sun will show the Seoul of possibilities,” and added, “We will create Seoul, the best democratic city in Asia, an open city where people all over the world want to live, and Seoul, a vibrant and attractive city.”
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party announced that the former Ulsan Nam-gu mayor Kim Seok-gyeom received 45.67% as a candidate for the Ulsan Nam-gu mayor’s election, which will be held together in the April 7 re-election.
