The Pakistani government announced on the 31st that it has decided to purchase 1.2 million doses of the Corona 19 vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinoparm.

According to Reuters, the Minister of Science and Technology of Pakistan said through a tweet that “the Pakistani Ministerial Committee has decided to pre-purchase 1.2 million doses of vaccine from Sinoparm.”

“This vaccine will be available free to frontline workers in the first quarter of next year,” he added.

China officially approved the sinofam vaccine that day. This is the first time that it has been approved for non-high-risk individuals.

The preventive effect is 79.34%, which is relatively inferior compared to Pfizer (95%), Modena (94.5%), and AstraZeneca (up to 80%).

Pakistan has bought a vaccine in a hurry because there are about 2,000 patients every day since last month, and it is urgent to secure a vaccine. In Pakistan, there have been 47,715 confirmed cases so far.

In addition to Sino Pharm, Pakistan has also signed contracts with Kansino of China. It has also secured millions of vaccine doses by participating in a vaccine joint purchase project, Cobax Facility.
