For the first time in Korea, as early as March this year, a’mobile hydrogen charging station’ will be operated in the Ulsan building.

The mobile hydrogen charging stations, which will be installed and operated at three places in Ulsan Free Regulation Zone, are not for general hydrogen vehicles, but for forklift charging companies, and one dedicated forklift charging vehicle manufactured by a material company (Hanyoung Technochem Co., Ltd.) It is operated by moving the mobile hydrogen charging station and charging it after parking.

Korea Gas Safety Corporation announced on the 27th that Lee Yeon-jae, the safety management director of construction work, conducted a safety consulting for a mobile hydrogen charging station scheduled to be installed in the Ulsan Free Regulatory Zone on the 25th.

This consulting was conducted as a preliminary inspection before conducting the completion inspection of the upcoming commercial portable hydrogen charging station. 19 items and measures to improve safety were conducted.

As it is the first mobile hydrogen charging station installed in Korea, special attention is required for safety management.

10 people, including Lee Yeon-jae, safety management director, and six hydrogen safety experts and company officials, participated in the consulting.

The mobile hydrogen charging station is approved by three locations in Ulsan City (in the Ulsan Free Regulatory Zone), and is expected to be fully operated in March as soon as it passes the completion inspection and undergoes a completion inspection in early March.

Mobile hydrogen charging stations have been extended to indoor logistics transport vehicles such as forklifts from the existing hydrogen charging stations limited to automobiles, and are of great significance in terms of activating the hydrogen economy.

It is designed in a structure that can be charged after parking while moving to various places (mobile hydrogen charging stations) by installing all of the hydrogen containers, compressors, and charging facilities in one large 15t truck.

In other words, first, a forklift charging vehicle equipped with all hydrogen containers, compressors, and charging facilities was given a special case of demonstration, and the forklifts of forklift operators were charged with hydrogen by charging after parking while going to and from 3 mobile hydrogen charging stations in the Ulsan Free Regulatory Zone. Will do.

Mobile hydrogen charging stations have already been commercialized in Japan, and about 39 mobile charging stations are operating, but it has not been commercialized in the US or Europe yet.

Safety Management Director Lee Yeon-jae said, “In order to secure the safety of mobile hydrogen charging stations, which will be introduced for the first time in Korea, we will maintain a close cooperative relationship by listening to the voices of contractors and safety management sites as well as institutional and technical support.” We will do our best to build a hydrogen charging station infrastructure that can be safely and conveniently used by all citizens.”
