Full control of Yeouido’s spring path during cherry blossoms is scheduled
Only those selected by lottery can view the cherry blossoms
In order to prevent the spread of Corona 19, cherry blossom viewing in Yeouido, Seoul this year, following last year, will be controlled.

On the 22nd, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, announced that it would completely control the 1.7km spring flower path to Yeouiseo, behind the National Assembly Building, during the cherry blossoms.

The control section is from the southern end of Sogang Bridge to the intersection of the National Assembly Assembly Hall, and the period is from April 1 to 12. The pedestrian path control will take place from the 2nd.
Instead, Goo plans to open an online spring flower festival (link) in cooperation with the Yeongdeungpo Cultural Foundation and Vibe Studios, a realistic content company. This is a method in which users enter the’virtual spring flower festival’ and participate in the festival.
Offline cherry blossom viewing within the control section is allowed only to those selected by lottery after applying in advance on the site. Named as’Spring Flower Walk’, about 3,500 people can participate in 7 days.
The selected number of people can enjoy the’Spring Flower Festival’ every 1 hour and 30 minutes by 99 people, including event officials, from 11 am to 9:30 pm from April 5th to 11th. However, it is a condition to observe the quarantine rules based on the ‘2nd step of social distancing’.
Mayor Chae Hyun-il said, “We hope that through the first ever on-offline spring flower festival held in compliance with the quarantine regulations, we will be able to overcome the corona depression with a hopeful spring spirit.”
