According to Gyeonggi-do and Hwaseong-si on the 24th, the province confirmed the’Dongtan Urban Railroad Basic Plan (draft)’, which is being promoted as one of the measures to improve traffic in the Dongtan 2 New City, and applied for approval to the Metropolitan Area Transportation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

‘Dongtan Urban Railroad’ is a project to introduce streetcars (trams) in two sections:’Suwon Mangpo Station-Dongtan Station-Osan Station’ and’Byeongjeom Station-Dongtan Station-Vehicle Base’. According to the basic plan, there are a total of 36 stations for Dongtan Tram, which is 34.2 km long, including 19 in the Mangpo-Osan section and 17 in the Byeongjeom-Dongtan 2 section.

Transfers with major means of transportation were linked to Mangpo Station (Bundang Line), Osan Station and Byeongjeom Station (Line 1), and Dongtan Station (SRT/GTX-A). In particular, it is explained that the plan was designed so that residents of Dongtan New City could reach Samseong Station in Seoul in an average of 35 minutes. The extension of the route between Mangpo Station in Suwon and Banwol-dong, Hwaseong (1.8 km) was additionally reflected through a procedure for collecting opinions from citizens.

When the basic plan (draft) is approved and notified by the Metropolitan Transit Commission in the first half of this year, construction will begin in 2023 with the goal of opening in 2027 as early as possible.

The third new city, Incheon Gyeyang Techno Valley District and Bucheon Daejang District, are connected by high-speed bus lines. The plan is to connect the line to the GTX (Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Rail)-B line that stops at Bucheon Sports Complex Station, so that the third new city will benefit from GTX.

On that day, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced measures to improve wide-area traffic in Gyeyang and Daejang districts in Bucheon, Incheon. As the two districts are adjacent to each other, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explained that the plan was integrated.

A representative example is the establishment of a new S-BRT (fast-moving bus through a dedicated driving route) route connecting Gimpo Airport Station-Gyeyang District-Daejang District-Bucheon Sports Complex. However, as Bucheon City was skeptical about this (Report on page 8 of September 15, 2020=Daejang District S-BRT (arterial express bus system) established… Bucheon City- Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) The ear is paying attention.

Meanwhile, the government announced that it is speeding up the compensation period for the 3rd new city by reducing the average of 10 months or more compared to the 2nd new city. In the case of the Changneung and Bucheon Daejang districts in Goyang, the compensation plan for the first half of this year will be announced and a district plan will be prepared and finalized at the end of this year.

For the Namyangju Wangsuk, Hanam Gyosan, and Incheon Gyeyang districts, which prepared the district plan last October, the plan is to be sequentially confirmed in the first half of this year.

In addition, by introducing a pre-subscription system, pre-subscription will be initiated from Gyeyang District, Incheon in July this year. In September-October, Namyangju Wangsuk 2 district, and Namyangju Wangsuk 1 district and Hanam Gyosan, Goyang Changneung, Bucheon Jangjang districts are scheduled to be supplied early.
