(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jae-young Cho = The government decided to build a’distribution data dam’ containing standard data on more than 3 million products and support the expansion of the advanced logistics system’Full Filment Center’ to strengthen the competitiveness of the distribution industry. did.

To this end, a total of more than 300 billion won will be invested over three years, and more than 20,000 new jobs will be created in data, delivery and logistics.

On the 4th, the government announced a’plan to strengthen digital distribution competitiveness’ containing these details at a state affairs review and coordination meeting held at the Seoul government building presided over by Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun.

The domestic online distribution market has grown rapidly over the past 10 years, with the amount of transactions increasing by about 6 times. Online transactions amounted to 21 trillion won in 2010, exceeding 130 trillion won last year due to Corona 19.

Accordingly, the government has come up with joint measures with relevant ministries to lead the digital innovation of the distribution industry and create a sustainable growth ecosystem.

First of all, more than 3 million product information standard data will be established by next year so that anyone, including manufacturers, distribution, and logistics companies, can use. Standard data is composed of up to 500 detailed items for each product, including 50 common information such as distribution standard code (bar code), product name, country of origin, manufacturer, brand company, product image, and capacity.

Currently, it has established 1 million standard data for offline products, and plans to expand it to online products as well.

To this end, the’Product Information Registry’ (tentative name) will be opened within this year to promote system linkage with online distributors. Using this information makes it easier to manage inventory and develop new services.

It plans to create a’distribution data utilization platform’ that links heterogeneous data such as product information, transaction information, weather and region, and disclose it to companies related to distribution and logistics.

An official from the Ministry of Industry said, “Through this platform, we plan to provide data analysis services to start-ups so that various service development and start-ups can take place.”

A typical example is a service that provides allergy-causing ingredients information for each processed food to allergy sufferers or provides nutritional information for foods consumed by consumers.

The government is also planning to support the expansion of full-filment centers to enable fast delivery and small-scale transactions. Full-filment is a system that collectively processes sellers’ products from storage, packaging, shipment, and delivery according to orders.

Currently, the industry is struggling to secure land due to regulations. Accordingly, the government has designated a’negative zone’ that removes restrictions on the types of businesses occupied in the industrial complex to allow the occupancy of the full-filment center, and plans to promote a pilot project to build a full-filment center that can be used jointly by small and medium-sized retailers.

Delivery bases around the city center will also be expanded through the reorganization of the’Community Collection and Delivery Center’ system, which serves as a joint logistics center for small and medium-sized industries, and utilization of idle sites for public institutions.

In addition, overseas public animal centers will be expanded to help distributors advance overseas, and smart public animal centers will be built to support online import and export logistics in the hinterland of domestic ports.

In addition, it has decided to train more than 1,200 distribution experts through the establishment of a short-term intensive distribution data course and an AI-convergence distribution master’s and doctoral training course.
