A survey found that one in five Americans lost a friend or relative due to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
This is the result of a public opinion poll released on the 11th (local time) with the Associated Press and the University of Chicago Public Opinion Research Center (NORC). The survey was conducted from the 25th of last month to the 1st of this month with 1,434 adults in the United States, and the margin of error is ±3.4%P. As a result of the survey, 19% of respondents said that a close friend or relative died from Corona 19.
This day is exactly one year since the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the corona19 pandemic. According to the statistics of Johns Hopkins University, as of the day, about 118 million people were infected and about 2.26 million people died in the world. In the United States, over 29 million people were infected and nearly 530,000 died.
31% of respondents said they were extremely or very concerned that they or their family would be infected. 36% of respondents said they were somewhat concerned. Thirty-three percent of the surveyed said they were not worried about much or were not worried at all. This is an increase from 27% of the February survey.
NORC said the findings of the findings are still high, but concerns have declined in recent months as vaccine distributions have increased.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 127 million doses of vaccine were distributed across the country by the morning of the previous day. About 96 million people received at least one vaccination. Currently, the U.S. has been approved for emergency use of three types of vaccines: Modena, Pfizer-Bioentech, and Johnson & Johnson (J&J). President Joe Biden has pledged to have a vaccine available to all American adults by the end of May.
