Among the six students who scored a perfect score in the 2021 college mathematics test, some students who scored higher than the perfect score in the humanities department came out and attracted attention. The main character is Jeong Yoo-bi (20), who graduated from Soongdeok High School in Gwangju.

Jeong was wrong in 1 question of 2 points in the Korean language for the SAT this year, but received perfect scores in all other subjects. Jeong’s standard score was 419. The elective subjects for social inquiry were economics and social culture. The score was calculated to be 4 to 12 points higher than the score obtained by students with perfect scores in the humanities field.

Previously, Jung took the 2020 Academic Proficiency Test and passed the university, but he received such a good score by choosing a second time to enter the Department of Economics at Seoul National University.

Jeong is known to have made a mistake in the Korean language, but scored higher than the perfect score. This is due to the standard score. In addition to English and Korean history subjects, in the current SAT system, which is a relative evaluation, the standard score is converted to the original score to determine the superiority and inferiority.

When a question is presented relatively easily, the average score is high and the standard score is low, but in the opposite case, the standard score is high because the average value of the original score is low.

Inquiry series electives made score deviations. The standard score for the social and cultural subject that Jung chose was 71, the highest among social studies subjects for the SAT this year.

The standard score obtained in the economics course was also 69 points, which was higher than the standard score in other subjects (based on the original score), such as Korean geography, world geography (hereinafter, 63 points). Therefore, Jung-gun was able to achieve a higher score than the perfect scorer.

Jung said, “I have not yet decided on a big goal, but I want to study in-depth about the economic field,” he said through News 1.

On the other hand, the highest standard score was transmitted to a student from Sejong High School who received 422 points in the natural sciences.
