President Moon Jae-in declared on the 21st to restart the peace process on the Korean peninsula, which had been stopped after the breakdown of the Hanoi-North Korea summit. Although the term is not long left, it is a willingness to do its best with the new administration of the United States to resolve the frozen inter-Korean dialogue.
President Moon presided over the National Security Council (NSC) plenary meeting in the video conference room on the 3rd floor of the Blue House Yeomin Hall 1 at 3 pm, and said, “The peace process on the Korean Peninsula is not an option, but a path that must be followed.”
President Moon presided over the first NSC plenary meeting this year on the day of the official inauguration of US President Joe Biden, pledged all-out war for the remainder of his term to advance the peace process on the Korean Peninsula.
President Moon urged, “After the breakdown of the Hanoi talks, the long stalemate should be ended as soon as possible, and a new breakthrough will be made in the dialogue between the two Koreas and the two Koreas so that the clock of peace can move again.”
“Where there is will, there is a way. The Korean peninsula of peace and prosperity is the wish of all the people.” “We will do our best to return to the path of cooperation,” he said.
President Moon is willing to continue making progress with the new President Biden while continuing the North American negotiations drawn up with former US President Donald Trump.
Earlier, at a New Year’s press conference on the 18th, President Moon said he trusts North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s commitment to peace, dialogue, and denuclearization. At the time of the Singapore-North Korea Summit, they “restored” that the Hanoi-North Korea Summit was misfired because an agreement was not reached in the process of realizing the security of the agreed system and normalization of relations with the United States.
As for the way to realize the Singapore Agreement, a solution can be found through dialogue, and Korea has expressed its willingness to play a role in this process.

In addition, President Moon emphasized that the clock of inter-Korean dialogue should move while continuing the trust and friendship that has been built up between the leaders of the two Koreas.
Earlier, in his 2021 New Year’s address announced on the 11th, President Moon said, “This year marks the 30th year since the two Koreas joined the United Nations at the same time.” It should be done.”
In particular, President Moon proposed expanding cooperation on issues directly related to public safety and survival, such as livestock epidemics and natural disasters, through corona response, saying, “Our will to meet anytime, anywhere, and to talk in a non-face-to-face manner. Is unchanged.”
