Concerns are growing as the fierce supporters of President Donald Trump, who caused the US Washington DC parliamentary invasion, are preparing for more violent protests ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.

On the 10th, the Washington Post (WP) said, “Trump supporters, who simulated unrest online, are preparing for the next plan,” and “more violent events could happen.” It is feared that the gathering of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be at its peak on the 20th when they are sworn in in Congress.

CNN also raised these concerns, citing an article from one supporter that “President Trump will take the second oath of office.”

In particular, the WP said plans for a wide range of protests have been circulating online over the past few weeks, and that a ‘1 million militia march’ is scheduled for inauguration day.

As a result of an analysis of recent posts shared by supporters on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook and on right-wing websites by an organization that analyzes false information online, there is a demand to act again.

The posts are full of violent remarks, such as the need to bring guns, and supporters are planning armed marches in 50 states, including Washington, Salt Lake City and Ohio, the group analyzed.

In particular, anxiety grows in that the police have not responded properly despite the protests of supporters, such as the intrusion of the parliament on the 6th, that were publicly conspired online earlier.

The newspaper pointed out that even though the federal and state governments have aggressively increased their intelligence capabilities since the September 11th terrorist attacks in 2001, the collected information was not properly shared. One think tank official pointed out that “the question is whether they have performed an appropriate risk assessment with the information they have.”
