‘OIS·waterproof and dustproof’ Galaxy A52·72 unveiled…to be released in Korea

<p>Samsung Electronics held a public event (unpack) for the first time in the mid-priced Galaxy A series and unveiled three models: Galaxy A52 (4G LTE), A52 5G, and A72 (4G LTE). In addition to optical image stabilization (OIS), which was applied only to flagship smartphones so far, IP67-rated waterproof and dustproof, rear quad camera, and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display were applied.</p>
<p>Samsung Electronics unpacked the Galaxy A series for the first time in history, reflecting the shrinking position in the premium smartphone market, intensifying competition in the mid-priced smartphone market, and the spread of non-face-to-face culture. The Galaxy A52 and A72 are popular models with annual sales totaling 30 million units and are aimed at young consumers. It will be released worldwide starting in Europe on the 17th. </p>
<p>The price starts at 349 euros for the Galaxy A52 (approximately 470,000 won), 429 euros for the Galaxy A52 5G (approximately 580,000 won), and 449 euros for the Galaxy A72 (approximately 600,000 won). Whether it will be released in Korea and the schedule has not been decided.</p>
<p>Samsung Electronics unveiled the 6.5-inch Galaxy A52, 6.5-inch Galaxy A52 5G, and 6.7-inch Galaxy A72 with OIS and waterproof and dustproof applied at the’Samsung Galaxy Awesome Unpack’ held online on the 17th. Samsung Electronics has so far applied OIS mainly to flagship smartphones, but from this year onwards, it is also expanding to the Galaxy A series. The iPhone SE, which Apple released last year, also has OIS. </p>

Three models, such as the Galaxy A52, can take clear photos and videos with less shaking by applying OIS. When using the night mode, it supports clear photo shooting in low-light environments by utilizing multi-frame processing technology that merges 12 images into one. At the same time, it was the first to install a’Fun’ mode that creates photo and video content using Snapchat’s augmented reality (AR) lens effect on the basic camera.

The rear camera specifications include the Galaxy A52 (4G 5G) with 64 million pixels, 12 million pixels ultra wide angle, 5 million pixels depth, and 5 million pixels close-up. The front camera is 32 million pixels. The rear of the Galaxy A72 is composed of a quad camera such as 64 million pixels, 12 million pixels ultra wide angle, 8 million pixels telephoto (3x optical zoom), and 5 million pixels close-up. The front camera is 32 million pixels.

As for the screen refresh rate, the Galaxy A52 and A72 support 90Hz, and the Galaxy A52 5G supports 120Hz. The higher the refresh rate, the smoother you can watch when watching games or videos. The refresh rate is a measure of how many scenes are displayed per second. The three products support 800nit brightness, which is the largest among the Galaxy A series.

The battery capacity is 4500mAh for the Galaxy A52 and A52 5G, and 5000mAh for the Galaxy A72. The company explained, “It can be used without worrying about charging by applying an artificial intelligence (AI)-based battery optimization technology.”

The three models are equipped with microSD card slots that support up to 1TB of capacity. It supports’Dolby Atmos’, which provides a stereoscopic sound experience. The mobile security platform’Samsung Nox’ protects user personal information and data in real time.

It has a simple camera housing and a haze finish that emits a subtle glow. There are four colors: Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, and Awesome White.
